Filter-function formalism and software package to compute quantum processes of gate sequences for classical non-Markovian noise

Correlated, non-Markovian noise is present in many solid-state systems employed as hosts for quantum information technologies, significantly complicating the realistic theoretical description of these systems. In this regime, effects on sequences gates cannot be described by concatenating isolated operations if environmental correlation times are scale typical gate durations. The filter-function formalism has been successful characterizing decay coherence under influence such classical, environments, and here we show it can applied to describe unital evolution within formalism. We find exact results process a simple composition rule sequence operations. This enables detailed study correlations algorithms periodically driven Moreover, point out method's suitability numerical applications open-source Python software package filter_functions. Amongst other things, facilitates computing noise-averaged transfer matrix representation operation presence universal classical arbitrary control sequences. apply presented methods selected examples.
